Robin Dutt's future as Werder Bremen coach is shrouded in doubt following his side's 6-0 defeat at Bayern Munich on Saturday.

Bremen are still without a win all season and Saturday's humiliating loss could see the club's patience exhausted.

"It was absolutely dreadful," the club's director of sport Thomas Eichin told www.kicker.de. "That performance was not worthy of a Bundesliga side.

"There's nothing good that can be said about it, but we will turn the corner."

Eichin has given Dutt a vote of confidence, saying he should not shoulder the blame for one of the worst moments in the club's recent history.

"I've been observing things very closely and can evaluate them rationally," he continued .

"It has nothing to do with the coach, but with the incredible fear and respect we showed Bayern."

Dutt himself was lost for words, simply because there were none which could make the situation any better.

"There's no point beating about the bush - it was an awful performance from us," he said. "And that is not just because we were playing Bayern."

Dutt seems set to be given a last chance when Cologne visit the Weser Stadion on Friday night.

More than just the result, the performance of his side will be under close scrutiny with Bremen propping up the rest of the division after eight matches.
