Hertha Berlin have awarded Marius Gersbeck a first-team contract.
The 18-year-old goalkeeper, who made his debut for the club in a Bundesliga match against Borussia Dortmund in December, has extended his stay in the German capital until 2017.
A statement on the club's official website said: "Hertha BSC has converted the existing support contract of Marius Gersbeck to that of a licence contract player.
"The goalkeeper, who is 19 years old in three days, is bound to the club to June 30, 2017."
Gersbeck is likely to continue to provide back-up to Hertha's first-choice 'keeper Thomas Kraft.
