On-loan FC Nurnberg midfielder Jose Campana believes he will be able to use his spell in Germany to improve as a player.

Campana joined from Crystal Palace on deadline day and said he had offers from Spain - but was more enticed to join Nurnberg as it was more of a challenge.

The 20-year-old only joined the London-based outfit in the summer from Sevilla and is under contract until 2017. However after making only six appearances he has been loaned to the Bundesliga club.

The Spanish Under-21 international told BILD: "I am on loan at this club because I went for the challenge. I could have easily moved back to Spain and La Liga, of course, but this task at FC Nurnberg looked more flattering to me.

"It's great to know Javier Pinola, I have got someone in the squad who speaks my native language (Spanish). He is good at looking after me and helps me a lot settling in."
