VfB Stuttgart manager Thomas Schneider has confirmed Denmark international midfielder William Kvist - a target for Fulham - is leaving the Mercedes-Benz-Arena.
The 28-year-old has been linked with numerous clubs including West Ham and French Ligue 1 outfit Evian, but Fulham are understood to be leading the race for his signature.
Kvist is an established member of the Denmark squad, with 44 caps for his country. He is out of favour at Stuttgart, but has a deal that ties him to the club until June 2015.
Sky sources understand Kvist is available for loan with an option to buy in the summer, in a deal worth £1.2million.
Schneider told Germany newspaper Stuttgarter Zeitung: "William Kvist feels unsettled at the club. He is looking for a new sort of competition.
"William has not been a first-team regular recently and, of course, as he is a Danish international, he requires to play regular football."
