Hamburg midfielder Rafael van der Vaart would be happy to sign a new deal to keep him with the Bundesliga club beyond June 2015.
The Holland international started his career at Ajax and has had previous spells at Hamburg, Real Madrid and Tottenham.
In 2012, he decided to return to the imtech-Arena and has established himself as an important player for the German side.
Van der Vaart, who has occasionally captained the club, told German newspaper BILD: "I would like to play football as long as possible; it is the best job in the world."
The attacking midfielder has had a decent season so far, with a return of seven goals in 15 appearances in the Bundesliga.
He added: "If Hamburg are keen to keep me beyond my contract expiry, I would certainly consider that.
"I would like to stay at Hamburg. I like being with Hamburg. Staying on long-term would not be a question of money."
