Borussia Dortmund could be forced into the transfer market in January following the serious injury to Jakub Blaszczykowski.
The Poland midfielder has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering torn cruciate knee ligaments in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Augsburg.
Jurgen Klopp's side have endured wretched luck with injuries this season and the club's chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke admitted they may have to rethink their decision not to do any more business this month.
He told Die Welt: "We have talked internally and looked at the market.
"I won't rule out that we will be active again after Blaszczykowski's injury. However we will only do that when it makes sense financially as well as in sporting terms."
