Wolfsburg have confirmed they are interested in signing Japanese winger Manabu Saito.
The 23-year-old has been tracked by the Bundesliga outfit for a while now and an undisclosed offer has reportedly been made to his club Yokohama F. Marinos.
However, Wolfsburg manager Dieter Hecking said that a move for the talented winger will not happen until the end of the season.
"Yes, (Wolfsburg are interested). However, it is unlikely there will be a transfer this winter," he was quoted as saying on Sports Hochi.
Saito played a key role in helping Yokohama F. Marinos finish second in the J-League last term.
He also scored in the final of the Emperor's Cup as Yokohama won 2-0 against Sanfrecce Hiroshima.
