Eintracht Frankfurt have signed defender Alexander Madlung on a contract that runs until June 2015.
The German club completed the deal on Thursday, with the centre-back arriving as a free agent.
Madlung had been without a club since June 30, 2013, when his contract with Wolfsburg ran out and he was not given a new deal.
During the intervening months, the German had a trial at Greek club PAOK in September and was also linked with Bundesliga outfits Nurnberg and Eintracht Braunschweig.
"We are happy to have signed Alexander Madlung," Frankfurt's general manager Bruno Hubner told the club's official website.
"He is an experienced defender with a lot of time in the game. He knows our coach (Armin Veh) from their time together (at Wolfsburg).
"Alexander will offer our defence more strength in depth."
