Hamburg general manager Oliver Kreuzer has confirmed an interest in signing on-loan striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga on a permanent basis.
Lasogga joined Hamburg on a season-long loan before the close of the transfer window from Hertha Berlin in a deal which saw Per-Ciljan Skjelbred head in the opposite direction.
The 21-year-old has made an impressive start to his Hamburg career and scored an eight-minute hat-trick in Sunday's 5-0 victory at Nurnberg.
An option to buy is not currently included in the arrangement, but Kreuzer is keen to see Lasogga remain at Hamburg for the long term.
Kreuzer told Die Welt: "We will be out to consider buying Pierre-Michel Lasogga at the end of the season.
"I am confident we will find a solution if everyone is keen to do a deal then."
Hamburg coach Bert van Marwijk added: "I like that kind of striker. Pierre-Michel Lasogga doesn't mind or care about who gets in his way."
