Stuttgart general manager Fredi Bobic has denied the club are set to re-sign defender Matthieu Delpierre from Hoffenheim.
The 32-year-old spent eight years at the Mercedes-Benz Arena between 2004 and 2012 before joining Bundesliga rivals Hoffenheim on a free transfer.
With defenders Serdar Tasci and Georg Niedermeier both sidelined through injury, there was speculation Delpierre could make a dramatic return to Stuttgart in order to solve their defensive injury crisis.
Bobic has poured cold water on those reports, though, insisting that he is currently looking at other transfer targets.
"We are to further consider options on the transfer scene," Bobic told Sudwestdeutscher Rundfunk. "We have no immediate plans to step up any concrete action, though.
"Matthieu Delpierre is not someone we have targeted. He will definitely not be able to help us."
