Highly-rated midfielder Felix Kroos has signed a contract extension at Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen.
The 22-year-old, who is the younger brother of Bayern Munich's Germany international Toni Kroos, will now remain with Bremen until at least the summer of 2015.
His previous deal was due to expire at the end of the current campaign, but he has avoided dropping into the free agent pool.
Kroos is delighted to have agreed fresh terms and is looking forward to challenging for a regular first-team role next season.
He told Bremen's official website: "I am very happy with this new contract.
"I have thought about what is best for my future and I am convinced this is the best way I could go.
"I based my decision solely on future chances and the last few weeks have been an indication that I am capable of being a regular in the Bundesliga.
"It is up to me to make sure I am a regular."
