Mainz have played down rumours that Jan Kirchhoff could leave the club in the January transfer window to join Bayern Munich.
Kirchhoff is out of contract at the end of the season and Mainz have yet to agree an extension with the Germany Under 21 international.
The impasse has prompted speculation that Bundesliga leaders Bayern will try to persuade Mainz to cash in on the full-back in the New Year.
However, Mainz's general manager Christian Heidel says there has been no contact about Kirchhoff and does not feel the defender wants to leave next month.
"We have not received any offer for Jan Kirchhoff," Heidel told BILD. "That's a fact.
"And honestly I do not really think Jan is very keen to change clubs right in the middle of a campaign."
