Borussia Dortmund continued their poor start to the season after conceding a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Hannover.
The point leaves the reigning Bundesliga champions nine points adrift of leaders Bayern Munich.
Robert Lewandowski gave Dortmund the lead midway through the first half but Mame Biram Diouf's leveller four minutes from time earned a point for the hosts.
Eintracht Frankfurt stay second in the table, five points behind Bayern despite a 2-0 defeat at Borussia Monchengladbach.
Juan Arango's pile-driver put Gladbach in front early on, with Luuk de Jong sealing the victory after 24 minutes.
Elsewhere, Stefan Kiessling helped himself to two goals as Bayer Leverkusen snatched a point in a 2-2 draw at Stuttgart.
Kiessling put the visitors in front with 13 minutes gone but the lead lasted just six minutes as Vedad Ibisevic tucked away a penalty for Stuttgart.
Ibisevic doubled his tally to put the hosts ahead early in the second half but Kiessling added his second to earn a share of the spoils.
Leverkusen's point lifts them to sixth in the table, while their opponents climb out of the relegation zone.
