Schalke 04 midfielder Julian Draxler will be out of action for up to four weeks after fracturing his left arm.

The 19-year-old sustained the injury in Wednesday's 2-2 UEFA Champions League draw with Montpellier at the Veltins Arena.

Shalke's team doctor Thorsten Rarreck said: "If everything goes well he will be out for three to four weeks.

"I hope he can come back relatively quickly and can train with a protective cast."

Germany international Draxler looks set to miss his countries World Cup qualifiers against Republic of Ireland and Sweden.

He will also miss Schalke's next Champions League outing in London against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
