Claudio Pizarro: The striker becomes Bayern's fourth new signing this summer
Claudio Pizarro has completed his move to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich on a free transfer from Werder Bremen.
The Peru international striker has signed a one-year deal with the UEFA Champions League runners-up after his contract with Bremen expired this summer.
Pizarro, 33, made 174 appearances and scored 71 goals in his first spell with the Bavarians between 2001 and 2007 before joining Chelsea.
Head coach Jupp Heynckes claims the Bundesliga's all-time top foreign goalscorer will make him the ideal candidate to replace Ivica Olic, who has left the club to join Wolfsburg.
Meanwhile, Bayern's director of sport Christian Nerlinger told the club's official website: "We are pleased to have been able to sign Claudio Pizarro, an internationally experienced and very dangerous striker."
He is Bayern's fourth new signing this summer, joining Xherdan Shaqiri from Basel, Tom Starke from Hoffenheim and Dante from Borussia Monchengladbach.
