Defender to be given time off after Africa Cup of Nations

Hoffenheim defender Isaac Vorsah will be given a rest this weekend according to his manager Markus Babbel. Vorsah has not played for the German side since 17th December having been at the Africa Cup of Nations with Ghana. Ghana reached the semi-finals of the tournament where they were knocked out by Zambia, before losing in the third place play-off to Mali on Saturday. Despite wanting the 23-year-old, who made 16 appearances in the opening part of the Bundesliga season, back in his side, Babbel knows the player needs to recuperate from the tournament. Babbel told spox.com: "Isaac Vorsah is a good player, I will however give him a rest and not play him the fixture against Mainz now. "Isaac Vorsah has been on duty with Ghana lately, participating in the Africa Cup of Nations. "He has been facing a lot of stress. then the whole travel exertions not to mention the change of climate and so on. "Going through a little period of rest will be very good for him."
