Brazilian midfielder Wesley is to leave German top flight outfit Werder Bremen and return to his homeland with Palmeiras. The 24-year-old, who has made just six appearances this season, will fly to Sao Paulo on Friday for a medical before signing a three-year contract for an estimated €6million (£5m). "The contracts have been signed by both clubs" said Werder sports director Klaus Allofs as the Germans let go of a player they bought in August 2011 from Santos. Meanwhile, the club have handed 19-year-old striker Niclas Fullkrug a full-time two-and-a-half-year professional contract.

Delighted

The youngster made his first-team debut in Bremen's home game against Bayer Leverkusen recently having spent the winter training with the senior squad. "We are delighted to be able to give another talented youngster an opportunity to develop with us," commented Allofs. "We are convinced that Niclas has the potential to make the breakthrough with us." Fullkrug, who has played for Bremen's youth teams since he was 16, is keen to take the chance he has been given to make a name for himself. "This is obviously fantastic" he said. "After I made my Bundesliga debut, I said that I really wanted more."
