Brazilian defender should make a full recovery following fire

Bayern Munich's Breno was admitted to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation following a fire at his home. The 21-year-old was kept in hospital overnight as a precaution after breathing in large amounts of smoke during the incident. Club director Christian Nerlinger played down fears of any serious or lasting damage. "He was shocked, but he is fine again now," he told the club's official website. "I'm glad that nothing serious happened to Breno." Breno returned to Bayern last season after he was loaned out to Nurnberg last term. He initially signed for the club in 2008 but has struggled to breakthrough making just 21 appearances. Munich police are currently investigating to see if they can detect the cause of the fire.
