Takyi and Streit out of reach for newly promoted side

FC Augsburg manager Andreas Rettig does not expect to complete the double signing of Charles Takyi and Albert Streit. St Pauli's relegation from the Bundesliga comes in conjunction with Augsburg's promotion to the top flight and the Hamburg-based club may struggle to hold onto Takyi. Rettig admits an interest in the midfielder, but suggests Augsburg are unlikely to secure his services, with St Pauli slapping a £600,000 price tag on him. He told Bild: "Of course, we have been interested in Charles Takyi. However, we are not expecting to see a move go through." Meanwhile, Schalke midfielder Streit has also been struck off their wish-list, with Rettig adding: "Albert Streit will also not be joining us. "A year ago we looked into signing him in a serious way but we are not monitoring him further. " However, Rettig left the door open for a U-turn on the matter, stating: "I once signed him for FC Koln. All I can say on him is that I never had any trouble with him in those years."
