The agent of Josip Simunic has hit out at Hoffenheim 1899 general manager Ernst Tanner for his criticism of the Croatia international.
Tanner said that Simunic did not have a future at Rhein-Neckar-Arena after falling out of the first-team picture last season.
But the defender is under contract until next summer and his representative, Fali Ramadali, expects him to return for pre-season training.
Ramadali told BILD: "Josip Simunic will return in time to see the doctors of the club.
"If he is fit enough, he will go straight into training and try to win a position in the line-up.
"He will be professional, there is no doubt."
