German Cup winners Schalke have announced that teenage midfielder Julian Draxler has signed a new contract.
The Germany youth international has signed a new deal which will keep him at the club until June 2016.
Schalke general manager Horst Heldt told members at the club's Annual General Meeting on Sunday that Draxler, 17, can become a centrepiece for the team.
"We have signed a new contract with Julian for five years until June 2016," said Heldt.
"We are happy to see him remain with us for the long term. We plan to make Julian Draxler one of the main players of the Schalke future."
