Czech Republic Striker Tomas Pekhart has signed a four-year contract with Bundesliga side Nurnberg for a fee of £1.2million. The 21-year-old's representative, Pavel Paska, first revealed the agreement, which will become active on 1st July. And Nurnberg have now confirmed the news, as manager Dieter Hecking told their official website: "We believe he has all the skills required to play well for Nurnberg. We hope he can repay our faith." Nurnberg general manager Martin Bader said: "We have had great experiences with players from the Czech Republic.

Milestone

"Tomas is a young striker with valuable experience from internationals. We are glad to have him around next season." Pekhart is currently on loan at Sparta Prague from Czech top-flight rivals FK Jablonec. He joined Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur at the age of 16 and stayed for three years. Pekhart, with one full international appearance, has also scored 27 goals in 62 games for the Czech Republic at various youth-team levels. "It will be another milestone in his career," Paska said of the move to Nurnberg.
