Schalke boss Felix Magath has dismissed Arminia Bielefeld's interest in Erik Jendrisek and Alexander Baumjohann.

Jendrisek and Baumjohann unlikely to join Bielefeld

Schalke manager Felix Magath has dismissed lower league Arminia Bielefeld's hopes of signing Erik Jendrisek and Alexander Baumjohann on loan until the end of the season. Bundesliga 2 side Bielefeld are said to have made contact with a view to signing Slovakia striker Jendrisek and former Germany Under 21 midfielder Baumjohann. But Magath doubts that either summer signing Jendrisek or Baumjohann, who arrived in January 2010, will want to leave ahead of February's UEFA Champions League last-16 tie against Valencia. The Schalke boss told Westdeutscher Rundfunk: "We have been contacted by Arminia Bielefeld about these players and we have a certain willingness to support them. "But I think that the players will also need to agree and I really cannot imagine that players, who signed to play in the Champions League with Schalke, have the understanding and the intention to fight against the drop from Bundesliga 2 with Arminia Bielefeld. I cannot see this happening."
