Stuttgart's defender Khalid Boulahourz has launched a scathing attack on the club's former management team.
The 28-year-old is set to be allowed to leave the club next month even though he still has over two years left on his contract.
The Dutch international has only played five times this term and has been linked with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Former general manager Horst Heldt and manager Markus Babbel have both left the club, but the former Chelsea defender feels they are responsible for him being marginalised at the club.
Scapegoat
"I was very often made out to be the scapegoat by the media," he told BILD.
"Many things that have been said are definitely untrue.
"There were people saying that I was only out for the money, that I am unable to play right-back and that I was a bad influence in the dressing room.
"Those people were only out to save their own ass. Now they are not here anymore, they took their first chance to leave the club.
"I am playing with my heart and not because of the money. I am under contract and I am looking for my fair chance at this club."
