Kaiserslautern boss insists star striker is going nowhere

Kaiserslautern manager Marco Kurz has issued a hands-off warning concerning in-form striker Srdan Lakic. The Croatia ace is in demand after scoring 11 goals in 16 matches for the promoted Bundesliga outfit this term. The 27-year-old, who is out of contract next June, has been linked with Werder Bremen this week as a replacement for Hugo Almeida, as well as Wolfsburg, if Edin Dzeko leaves. But Kurz insists his star striker will not be sold as he needs his services for the challenges ahead.

Rubbish talk

The Kaiserslautern boss told kicker-Sportmagazin: "It is rubbish talk to guess we would be willing to work on a transfer of Srdan Lakic. "Moving him on in the winter transfer window is not what we will be doing. "Srdan Lakic is contracted to our club and we are going to have an extremely difficult second half of the Bundesliga campaign in the upcoming month. "We are not out to lose any quality with regard to this."
