FC Twente midfielder Theo Janssen has revealed it may be time to move to a different league after being linked with Wolfsburg.
Janssen has been an impressive performer for Twente since his arrival from Vitesse Arnhem in 2008, but is ready to fulfil his future ambitions in another country.
Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, who are coached by former Twente boss Steve McClaren, have been tipped to make a January bid for Janssen.
The 29-year-old does not want to pass up an opportunity of a new experience and believes now is the right time to secure a move away from Twente.
"When I am 30, I am less interesting for other clubs," Janssen told Algemeen Dagblad. "I have ambitions and want to explore my limits.
"I have seen all the stadiums in the Netherlands, now I want to know where my limits are. There's nothing wrong about that, is there?
"The level of the games I have played with FC Twente in the Champions League makes me hungry and curious for more.
"Now, I really feel the top sporting mentality at FC Twente where I could develop further. On the other hand, everything happens for a reason so I think it has to be."
