Hannover have suffered a fresh blow with Emanuel Pogatetz requiring a further three weeks on the sidelines.
The former Middlesbrough stopper has sustained a new thigh injury and could be out of action for another month.
Pogatetz had only just returned to training from a thigh strain when he suffered a similar injury in his first session back.
The Austria international will miss the club's upcoming matches against Hoffenheim, Borussia Dortmund and Mainz.
"Emanuel Pogatetz is set to be out for further three weeks," Schmadtke towards BILD.
"It is obviously great to see a regular member of the first-team return to training sooner than expected.
"This will be a boosting effect for the team's efforts."
