St Pauli striker Marius Ebbers has agreed a new deal to prolong his stay at the Bundesliga newcomers until June 2012.
The 32-year-old joined St Pauli from Alemannia Aachen in 2008 and his last deal was due to expire at the end of the current Bundesliga season.
But he has agreed to stay on after scoring two goals in eight top-flight starts this term to help St Pauli sit in sixth position with 13 points.
This latest scoring comes after he netted 20 times last term to help St Pauli earn promotion to the top flight.
St Pauli manager Holger Stanislawski welcomed the news that the key striker has signed his new deal.
He told the Rheinische Post: "We are delighted about this news. To see him agree to our proposal so early this season is an enormous act of faith.
"Marius is a key striker for us and he is key to our future plans."
