Spanish midfielder Juan Manuel Jurado has admitted the prospect of playing alongside Real Madrid legend Raul at Schalke made up his mind about moving to Veltins Arena.
The 24-year-old joined the Bundesliga club on transfer deadline day from Atletico Madrid after agreeing a four-year deal for a reported £10.6million fee.
Jurado therefore followed in the footsteps of compatriot Raul, who had left the Spanish capital for Germany earlier in the summer.
"I am pleased, Schalke is a good club and it is a great step in my career as a player," Jurado told Deuitsche Presseagentur.
"I am very excited at having the chance to play alongside Raul at Schalke. I played alongside Raul three times when I was a youngster at Real Madrid and he was the big star of the squad.
"It is a dream come true for me to be his team-mate now."
