Centre-back targets first-team place at Allianz Arena
Defender Breno has set his sights on a regular place in the Bayern Munich first team as he nears his return from a long-term knee injury.
The Brazilian centre-back sustained cruciate ligament damage while on loan at Nurnberg in March 2009 and he has been undergoing a lengthy rehabilitation process.
Breno, though, is close to fitness and the centre-back hopes to force his way above the likes of the error-prone Daniel van Buyten in the plans of Louis van Gaal.
The 20-year-old told BILD: "I am not a weaker player than the other central defenders.
"I am making fantastic progress in my recovery and I am finally almost ready to regularly produce my best for Bayern Munich.
"The authorities of the club have always praised me, but I have not yet been given a real chance by any manager (at Bayern).
"I hope to get that chance now and I want to impress."
