FC Nurnberg general manager Martin Bader has denied that the club are interested in signing Argentina international Julio Cruz on a free transfer.
It had been reported that the Bundesliga outfit had shown an interest in signing the 35-year-old striker.
Cruz had been set to retire from the game after spending last season in the Italian capital playing for Lazio.
The former Bologna and Inter Milan hitman could now be set for a sensational return to action with the Bavarian outfit.
However, Bader has moved quickly to reject the reported interest in the veteran, telling Nurnberger Zeitung newspaper: "I'm not aware of the origin of this story.
"We are definitely not discussing a move for Cruz. Not at any point."
