Defender to undergo Bremen medical on Monday

Skysports.com understands Mikael Silvestre has agreed a deal to join Werder Bremen. Bremen confirmed their interest in the Frenchman earlier this week as they look to bolster their defensive options. Silvestre is available on a free transfer after leaving Arsenal earlier this summer following the expiration of his contract. The 33-year-old has been in talks with Bremen officials over a move to Germany and it is understood he has agreed a two-year deal with the Bundesliga outfit. Silvestre is set to undergo a medical in Bremen on Monday before tying up his move to Germany. The move will see the former Manchester United and Arsenal man come up against Tottenham in the UEFA Champions League after they were drawn in the same group for Europe's premier competition.
