Wolfsburg managing director Dieter Hoeness has refused to reveal if he is trying to bring Diego to the club.
The 25-year-old Brazilian midfielder moved to Juventus from German side Werder Bremen last year, for a fee of £21million.
Diego spent three successful years with Bremen and became one of the Bundesliga's shining lights during his time at the Weserstadion.
Although he has a contract with the Old Lady that runs until June 2014, he has long been linked with the exit door, and reports have suggested the Serie A outfit are holding out for £17million.
However, Hoeness would not openly declare his interest in Diego, choosing to keep his cards close to his chest.
"We are not prepared to hand the media an idea on our personnel planning," he told Berliner Zeitung.
"This is simply often handing a club a disadvantage in negotiations as this is laying one's cards on the table."
