Mainz have completed the signing of Christian Fuchs on a season-long loan deal from Bochum.
The 24-year-old midfielder was relegated from the Bundesliga with Bochum last term, but will now continue to play in the German top-flight.
Mainz also have the option to sign the Austria international, who can also play at full-back, on a permanent deal at the end of the campaign.
"Christian Fuchs has already been proving his quality for several years," general manager Christian Heidel told Mainz's official website.
"For a 24-year-old, almost 200 top-flight games is an impressive tally.
"Furthermore, he is just the kind of player we want wide on the left as he is an aggressive, courageous left-footer."
