Cologne have completed the signing of left-back Konstantinos Giannoulis from Iraklis FC of Greece.

Bundesliga outfit bolster squad with left-back

Cologne have completed the signing of left-back Konstantinos Giannoulis on a three-year-contract. The player has switched to the Bundesliga from financially stricken Iraklis FC of Greece for a nominal fee. His transfer comes after he ended proceedings to sue Iraklis FC after going without pay in recent months. The 22-year-old has been brought in to replace injury-prone former Inter Milan player Pierre Wome.

Strengthening

Cologne general manager Michael Meier told the club's official website: "We are happy and delighted to have found a strengthening of our backline in the signature of Konstantinos Giannoulis. "He is exactly the player we were looking for at left-back to help us progress." Giannoulis added: "For me it is a big challenge to continue my playing career in the Bundesliga with Cologne. "I am looking forward to representing the club." Giannoulis played for Iraklis FC in the last two seasons, making 55 top-flight appearances in Greece during that time.
