Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez has been ruled out for up to three weeks after suffering a calf injury in Tuesday night's UEFA Champions League clash at Fiorentina.
Gomez tore a calf muscle in the first half of the 3-2 defeat, which saw the German outfit reach the quarter-finals on away goals.
The 24-year-old should be back before that stage of the tournament, which is due to be played at the very end of March.
A statement on the club's official website confirmed that the prolific striker will be sidelined for between two to three weeks.
The news is another blow for head coach Louis van Gaal, who is already without injured defenders Martin Demichelis and Diego Contento.
