Defender unhappy with lack of football at Koln

Cologne defender Marvin Matip has admitted that he is far from happy and is hoping to leave the club in January. The situation comes just six months after the 24-year-old signed a new contract keeping him at the club until June 2011 after an impressive season last term under ex-boss Christoph Daum. However the former Bochum man has made just fleeting appearances from the bench this campaign under new manager Zvonimir Soldo and is growing frustrated at the Rhein Energie Stadior. Matip is determined to get his future sorted so that he can maintain his match fitness and get back to playing regular football. "Do I have a status at the club? We do not need to beat around the bush, I am looking for a new club at the moment," he told Kicker. "Because I have to move on already this winter if there is no change to my current situation. "I need to play regularly to keep my match fitness in good order."
