Keeper struggling with mystery ailment

Hannover goalkeeper Robert Enke will require further tests in order to identify the virus which has laid him low. The Germany international has been unable to train for the last week after being struck down by a mystery illness. Medical examinations have so far failed to distinguish what is wrong with him, but Hannover are confident they will get to the bottom of the problem. "Blood tests carried out by the Hamburg institute of tropical disease confirmed that it was not a contagious disease," read a club statement. "Other tests are needed to determine the proper treatment." Enke was forced to pull out of Germany's 2010 World Cup qualifier against Azerbaijan last week as a result of the virus, while he also missed Hannover's goalless draw with Werder Bremen on Sunday.
