Rafa rules out sales

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has ruled out any more player sales before the summer transfer window closes.

Benitez wants to keep squad in tact

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has ruled out any more player sales before the summer transfer window closes. The Reds have lost the likes of Jermaine Pennant and Alvaro Arbeloa since the end of last season, although their biggest loss was Xabi Alonso's switch to Real Madrid. Recent speculation has linked Andriy Voronin and Albert Riera with moves away from Anfield; talk Benitez has now refuted. Barcelona are being tipped to move for Spain international winger Riera while Hertha Berlin are keen on bringing Voronin back to the Bundesliga.

Strength in depth

The Spanish tactician insists the Merseysiders simply cannot afford to lose any more of their strength in depth if they are to challenge for honours. "Nobody will be sold because we need all our players. We can't afford to lose anyone else," stated Benitez. "The Premier League is very difficult and we have to keep everyone we have at the moment."
