Cristiano Lucarelli has expressed his delight after returning to Livorno on a season-long loan deal.
Lucarelli has been with Parma for the past 18 months after an unsuccessful spell with Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine.
A move back to Livorno looked set to fall through earlier this month due to problems with his agent.
However, the differences have now been resolved and the 33-year-old striker hopes to secure a permanent switch.
"If I want to stay at Livorno, then I must ensure we achieve safety. Staying here will be my prize for the season," said Lucarelli.
"I signed a one-year loan contract and Livorno will take up the option to buy only if we remain in Serie A."
Lucarelli added: "I want to thank my former agent Pallavicino, as stepping aside allowed me to re-open negotiations."
American interest
Livorno are determined to strengthen their squad after winning promotion to Serie A and have set their sights on American duo Ricardo Clark and Landon Donovan.
Livorno president Aldo Spinelli has held talks with the agent of Los Angeles Galaxy forward Donovan and Houston Dynamo midfielder Clark and hopes to be able to bring in the pair at the end of the Major League Soccer season.
"We spoke with (agent Richard Motzkin), but the transfer fee is too high," Spinelli told
Soccer365.
"The only solution could be that some sponsors could invest to bring the player to the Italian Serie A.
"We will work with our people in the US to try to figure out all the picture before November, in order to have the player in January.
"We spoke with Mr. Clark's manager, Mr. Motzkin, in order to find an agreement to bring the player to Livorno."
