Stuttgart have revealed that Serdar Tasci could be close to signing a new deal with the club.

The Bundesliga club announced in a statement that an 'agreement in principle' had been reached over a contract extension.

Tasci has been linked with a move away from Stuttgart in recent months after he enjoyed an excellent 2008/9 campaign.

The likes of Arsenal, AC Milan and Juventus have all been credited with an interest in the German defender.

The 22-year-old's existing contract with Stuttgart expires in June 2010.
