Ajax have completed the signing of Cameroon international defender Timothee Atouba.
The left-back has signed a two-year deal with the Eredivisie side with the option of a further two seasons.
Atouba was available on a free transfer after his contract with Hamburg expired and he rejected the offer of a new deal in Germany.
Ajax coach Martin Jol, who knows Atouba from their time together with Hamburg and Tottenham, has moved to strengthen his defence following the departure of Thomas Vermaelen to Arsenal.
Atouba, who has won over 40 caps for his country, is Jol's first summer signing after missing out on Oguchi Onyewu, who secured a shock move to AC Milan.
