Bayern Munich president Franz Beckenbauer has quashed suggestions that defender Lucio will leave the club.
Lucio, 31, says he wants to continue playing in Europe but has hinted that his future may not necessarily lie at Bayern.
Speculation is mounting over a possible exit following a reported fall-out with new coach Louis van Gaal.
Beckenbauer, though, has dismissed those rumours and insists the issue will be put to bed when the player returns from international duty.
"I think the whole thing is based on misunderstanding," he told German newspaper Bild.
"These should be dispelled quickly when all concerned are in Munich," he added. "Lucio is the captain of Brazil and our best in defence. We should keep him."
