Stuttgart are yet to reach an agreement with Serdar Tasci regarding a new contract, the club have revealed.
The Germany international has been attracting interest from the likes of AC Milan, Juventus and Arsenal of late and continues to feature prominently on the wish list of some of Europe's top clubs.
Stuttgart are therefore understandably keen to tie him down to a new deal, in a bid to keep interest from elsewhere at bay.
Talks regarding new terms have been opened, but as yet the defender has not put pen-to-paper.
"We have not reached anything close to an agreement as yet," a club spokesman told Stuttgarter Zeitung.
"Talks are ongoing, of course, but there is nothing that will be announced soon."
Tasci's agent has also confirmed that an agreement remains some way off and has refused to rule out the possibility of a summer exit.
"We are hoping to make a decision in the near future," said Uli Ferber.
"But this will be our decision and not the decision of anyone else."
Stuttgart are hoping to persuade Tasci to sign a deal which will take him through to the summer of 2013, with his current contract set to expire at the end of next season.
