Thimothee Atouba has declared his intent to stay at Hamburg, who are keen to keep Paolo Guerrero.

No new talks with Guerrero

Thimothee Atouba has declared his intent to stay at Hamburg, who are also keen to keep Paolo Guerrero. Former Tottenham full-back Atouba has been linked with a return to the Premier League at the end of the season. However, the Cameroon international is happy playing under Martin Jol at Hamburg and insists he has not rejected a new deal with the club. "I never refused anything," Atouba told Hamburger Abendblatt. "I want to stay here, I have to make myself clear about that." He added to skysports.com: "I like the Bundesliga. I have settled nicely here since coming from the Premier League. "I have contacts, but I like Hamburg and want to win things with the club." Meanwhile, Hamburg's general manager Dietmar Beiersdorfer says the club do not want to lose Guerrero even though contract talks have yet to start with the striker. Beiersdorfer told Bild: "We had been talking to Paolo last summer. He decided not to sign, just to wait. "We are still keen on keeping him at our club, but actually there are no new talks about a new deal."
