Schalke midfielder Jermaine Jones has denied that he wants to leave the club at the end of the season.
The Bundesliga outfit saw their last hope of picking up any silverware this season vanish after they were dumped out of the German Cup 1-0 by Mainz in the quarter-finals on Tuesday.
Schalke, runners-up in the league in 2007, currently occupy eighth place, nine points behind leaders Hertha Berlin and are struggling to qualify for Europe.
But the 27-year-old, who was linked with a move to Manchester United last summer, insists he is happy to stay at the Parkstadion.
"I have a contract with Schalke 04 and I can imagine staying on at this club throughout my whole career," he told Reviersport.
But should the club not qualify for Europe next season they could look to sell their most valuable assets in order to balance the books.
This could mean moves for the likes Jones, full-back Rafinha, striker Kevin Kuranyi or midfielder Ivan Rakitic could become a possibility.
Rakitic has already been rumoured to be interesting Serie A sides Juventus and Inter according to his brother's comments to the German media.
