Toni Kroos has spoken of his relief at securing a loan move from Bayern Munich to Bayer Leverkusen.

The 18-month deal will see Kroos join former Bayern player Bruno Labbadia, now coach at Leverkusen, and brings an end to an unhappy period for the 19-year old.

Kroos is the youngest ever player to appear for Bayern in the Bundesliga but has admitted he could not get past Jose Ernesto Sosa in the pecking order at the club.

"I was unhappy not to play more often and had asked for a move at the start of the winter break," he told Bild.

"Bayern rejected that and I did not expect something to happen, but then Uli Hoeness told me Jose Ernesro Sosa would not be moving on and I would be allowed to move.

"Leverkusen was my priority, they are one of the best teams and their style suits me.

"I have prepared myself for 18 months here at Leverkusen; nothing else is any of my business."
