Energie Cottbus have revealed that they would like to sign Wolfsburg midfielder Jacek Krzynowek.

Poland international could add experience

Bundesliga strugglers Energie Cottbus have revealed that they would like to lure Wolfsburg midfielder Jacek Krzynowek to the Friendship Stadium. The 32-year-old Poland international is thought to want to leave Wolfsburg this winter after failing to find regular first-team football. And the Cottbus management team could be looking to pounce for his signature as they bid to move away from relegation danger. "If an experienced player such as Krzynowek is on the market, then we at Energie Cottbus have the duty to think about him," Cottbus general manager Steffen Heidrich told Lausitzer Rundschau. It is, however, uncertain as to whether cash-strapped Cottbus will be able to afford the transfer fee that is likely to be demanded by Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath, who rejected a bid from Borussia Dortmund for Krzynowek in the summer.
