Japan international Yuji Nakazawa has turned down an offer to join Borussia Monchengladbach.
The Bundesliga strugglers saw the centre-half as an ideal signing as they look to bolster their squad in January in a bid to avoid the drop.
However the Yokohama F Marinos star has spurned a move as he wants to concentrate on his international career.
He told the Daily Yomiuri: "At this stage of my career, I am fully concentrated on my duties playing for the national team.
"The move is too much of a risk for me. I won't be able to accept such an offer."
Nakazawa's contract with Yokohama expires at the end of the current J-League season and a host of clubs are reportedly lining up to sign the 30-year-old in January.
