Standard Liege defender Dante has become the latest new recruit at Bundesliga strugglers Borussia Monchengladbach.
The 25-year-old Brazilian will join the five-time Bundesliga champions in January after agreeing a contract through to 2013. No details have been revealed as to the fee involved.
"As a central defender Dante played a key role in the Standard Liege's great 2007/08 season," Gladbach's sport director Max Eberl told the club's official website.
"He has been playing at left-back over the past few months because Standard have had problems there, but we see him as a centre-half - the position he has played for most of his career," he continued.
Dante is the club's fourth new signing of the winter following Tomas Galasek (Banik Ostrava), Paul Stalteri (Tottenham) and goalkeeper Logan Bailly (Genk).
Monchengladbach are currently bottom of the Bundesliga table with just 11 points from 17 games so far this season.
